Real-World Initial D









Guys, was feeling bored at work at usual... so explored wikipedia's entry on Initial D, which was quite comprehensive. As it turns out, there's a link to a japanese website which traces the actual locations of all the races of Initial D in Japan. Most of the mountain passes are actual locations, but the original Mt Akina is apparently based on a Mt Haruna in the Gunma prefecture. Amazingly, these siao-on people have even managed to locate buildings which inspired the look of things like the "Gas Station", "Fujiwara Tofu Shop", and I think even the infamously mis-spelled "Familys" chain of restaurants ahaha...
